ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Establish and Finance the NOP

  • Established NOP Board
  • Secured funds from SUNO to help set up and operate the NOP
  • Secured NOP 501(c)(3) status
  • Secured NOP President


Perform comprehensive market study of New Orleans-- commercial
and housing investment potential

  • Partnered with the Southern University of New Orleans to complete Market Studyof the LIFT Target Area called the "Bienville Corridor"


Establish vacant lot and distressed housing rehabilitation program

  • Secured COFFEE's commitement to serve as lead non-profit housing developer
  • COFFEE is currently working with New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) to develop a plan to acquire 100 properties in target area
  • Secured a commitment of matching grant to help establish housing rehabilitation program
  • Started constructing 20 new single-family homes on a lot that has been vacant for over 50 years

 

Establish Employer Assisted Home Ownership program
